FISH TREE YOGA

Enter the Tea House The Fish

FISH TREE YOGA RETREAT CENTER might be the most unique yoga studio in the Southeast. The studio is situated on 10 acres located within miles of the pristine white beaches of Perdido Key, FL, and Orange Beach, AL. The studio and grounds have been architecturally designed and built in the Japanese Tea House Style, utilizing bamboo as the central focus throughout the interior of the 1,100 SF studio. The actual SF, including the
8' wrap around outside cumaru wood deck, is 2,200 SF. Interior beams are 5" bamboo, with 1" bamboo on the vaulted ceiling. The walls are bamboo slats trimmed with bamboo. The floors are tiger-striped bamboo with a cork underlayment.

The grounds of Fish Tree are as unique as the studio. Students park in a wooded 2-acre gated parking area immediately across the street from the main house, 6,000 SF Victorian house that is adjacent to the studio, and cross a walkway bridge to enter the main grounds.

Victorian Farm House Grounds

You proceed to the right of the main house and come to a beautiful gate, which allows access into the Fish Tree Yoga's entrance area. A few steps farther, you see the blue bottle tree on the left, you enter the MEDITATION GARDEN on the right through a wooden entrance with 8' to 10' azaleas fully surrounding a lighted brick walk path.

Within the gardens are Magnolia trees, Crepe myrtles, Camellias, Cast Iron plants and Palm Trees. There are numerous individual sitting areas in the garden with a bird of paradise fountain situated in the middle of the garden. The garden has been designed to bloom most all year. Within the garden are numerous bird houses which house beautiful Blue birds, Red birds and Doves just to mention a few.

From the meditation garden, entry is gained into the FISH TREE YOGA STUDIO. You pass by the Fish Tree and come to the entrance archway between 8' Azaleas and climb the stairs to a Brazilian Cumaru wood deck that surrounds the studio. You enter through the double-glass, leaded doors into a studio designed specifically for yoga.

Bamboo beams, walls and flooring make this an eco-friendly structure. The sound system is a Yamaha. The French style double doors open into a view setting of the organic orchards. There are acres of organic orchards that include blueberries, along with fig, persimmon, lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, peach and banana trees. Wildlife on site includes deer, rabbits, turtles, hawks, owls, butterflies, humming birds and an occasional coyote. There even is a resident SKINK named Gus.

Zen Sand Garden

A Japanese Zen Sand Garden is located on the West side of the Tea House for meditation.
